Ryuhaku Todoh, or simply Todoh, is a well-balanced close range fighter, average at everything with no big strength or weakness aside from a lack of long range attacks, and a slight dependancy on a meter located above his portrait at the bottom of the screen.
Side Special & the meter: quickly sends out up to 3 lines of damaging energy in front of Todoh, and changes the meter's color upon use. The meter starts at bright green, then goes in this order after each use: dark green, bright yellow, dark yellow, bright red, and dark red. While the meter is a green color, side special is at it's strongest, throwing out three lines that deal great damage with strong knockback and really good range! But when the meter turns to yellow, it gets weaker, only sending out two lines that deal less damage and knockback. Finally when the meter is red it's at it's weakest state, calling in a pitiful single line that deals even worse damage and knockback. If used in the air, Todoh will stop in place for the move's duration, you can only use it once in the air until you have to land again.
Neutral Special: While on the ground, Todoh strikes a pose and begins charging up his meter back to bright green, you can hold the button to keep charging. While in the air, it acts the same as aerial side special.
Up Special: while on the ground, it acts very similarly to side special, except the lines travel upwards above Todoh's head, making it a very potent anti-air attack! It too gets weaker the less meter you have. While in the air, Todoh stalls for a bit before launching upwards with a mighty kick, helping him get back to the stage.
Down Special: A rather simple counter attack, Todoh puts his guard up, and anyone that tries to attack him in this short window will be met with a powerful kick. If you counter a strong move and deal 20 or more damage, you'll be rewarded with a more intense hit sound effect.
V2:
Attack voice sounds overhauled, now only has a chance to play on most moves, rather than playing them every time. Additionally the volume was slightly lowered, and he has been given non-vocal 'woosh' sounds to accompany them.
Down Special's counterattack base knockback multiplier reduced. (from 1.5X to 1.2X)
V3: Final Smash added!
