The 4th public demo of SSBC (v0.4 was unreleased) released on Aug. 21, 2010. Below are patch notes for this respective version of the game, again taken from the help menu accessed by pressing F1. Not mentioned in the patch notes, this is the first version of the game to introduce the announcer!
Changes for v 0.5:
- New feature: Save Data
- New Secret Stage: Rice Beach
- Added Data menu and demo of Records
- Added Peak Damage to Versus Results
- Fixed item bugs from 0.4
- New, longer Fighter Profiles
Changes for v. 0.4 (unreleased test version):
- New Characters: Yoshi, Young Link, Wario
- New Stage: The Great Sea
- New Items: Freezie, Proximity Mine, and Soccer Ball
- Added width to characters (to prevent excessive overlapping)
- Fast-falling changed to Melee-style (characters can accelerate to fall speed very quickly)
- Fast-fall speeds decreased slightly
- Projectile collisions implemented
- Added Star KO's
- Various Character and Stage bug fixes
- New styling on Character Select backgrounds
